The library collection is developed and replenished in accordance with Order No. 44 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 2016, “On the Formation and Preservation of Book Collections of State Educational Organizations.”
The book collection of the University Library is determined in accordance with the specific profile of the University and its academic specialties, as well as the areas of the educational programs of the departments. Documents are selected according to the areas of training for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs.
Orders for documents are processed throughout the year on the basis of information materials and written requests received from publishing houses, book-selling organizations, as well as from the University’s departments.
Educational materials are acquired in accordance with the University’s educational programs and curricula, as well as the “Requirements Applied in the Licensing of Educational Activities” (Resolution No. 391 of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 17, 2015), based on requests submitted by the departments.
Departments determine the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of their requests and give particular attention to educational materials bearing the official approval mark of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan / the Republican Educational and Methodological Council (ROÄK).
Information about newly received books is provided to faculties by subject area in written and electronic form through “Information Bulletins” and is also published on the library’s website.
