A sports and educational event dedicated to World Togyzqumalaq Day, celebrated on September 9, was held in the university’s newly opened park.
The event was attended by Rector Zhanar Temirbekova and Vice-Rectors, deans, faculty members, and students, led by the Rector’s Representative, Peyami Battal.
The event was jointly organized by the Faculty of Sports, the Sports and Recreation Center, and the Center for Intellectual Games of the Turkic Peoples (Research and Practice).
The main objective of the event was to promote and popularize Togyzqumalaq, a traditional intellectual game shared by the Turkic peoples, among young people. The event also aimed to highlight national values by celebrating traditional games and national attire.
During the event, the organizers introduced participants to the rules and unique features of Togyzqumalaq. Experienced players taught students and faculty members how to play the intellectual game and shared their knowledge and skills.
Young people and faculty members from the Turkic world also took part in Togyzqumalaq games, developing their strategic thinking and mastering the skills of defending and launching attacks during play.
The sports and educational event in the park provided participants with an engaging form of intellectual recreation. It offered an opportunity to take a break from their busy daily routines, strengthen their logical thinking skills, and increase their interest in Togyzqumalaq as a traditional national sport.
Thus, the university community celebrated World Togyzqumalaq Day on September 9, honoring and promoting the national values and cultural heritage embodied in this traditional intellectual game.
